Why do a DBS?

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

DTS teaches us all about knowing God and making him known but how can we know God if we haven’t even studied His Word? In DBS we will be exploring who God is, what His Word actually means for our lives and how we and the people around us can be transformed by it. Our students will discover the unified story of the Bible, be discipled and fall more in love with the Author of the Bible while practically walking out what they are learning.

Bill and Seraina

Bill and Seraina have been in YWAM for many years. Bill who’s originally from Fiji has done his DTS with Island Breeze Brisbane, Australia in 2011. He then did a BCC in Mt Hagen, PNG in 2013 which was followed by an intense nine months of SBS in the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Australia in 2019. There he met his now wife Seraina. Seraina who’s originally from Switzerland has done her DTS in Muizenberg, South Africa in 2016. She did her SBS in Sunshine Coast, Australia in 2017 followed by Titus and an outreach to PNG where she got to teach on the DBS. Later Seraina got to go to Samoa, Solomon Islands and PNG to teach on DBS again.

Bill and Seraina have both been staffing SBS in the Sunshine Coast for two years each. They are passionate about the Bible and how lives can be transformed through reading and understanding it. They are also passionate about living out the word of God in a practical way and not only gaining head knowledge. Therefore when asked to pioneer a DBS at the Sunshine Coast they were on fire for it.

Bill, Seraina and their passionate staff team can’t wait to see their students fall in love with the word of God, be transformed, discipled and on fire to spread the Good News through words and deeds.
