Why do a DBS?

You have done DTS and maybe even other YWAM Schools but you find yourself hungering for more of God’s presence, His Word and greater transformation in your life.  Or maybe when you engage with others concerning your faith you feel unprepared.  If this true, then the DBS is for you!
In the DBS, you will go on a journey with God through the entire Bible. You will not just get head knowledge, but will be discipled by His Word. In this 12-week Bible school, you will be given an overview of “God’s story” and will discover the purposes of God in it. You will be able to share your faith more confidently with those who are seeking and explain the Word of God more accurately to those who’ve already come to faith.

Why Panama?

Panama is a beautiful land with many beaches, mountains and rivers. Due to the famous Panama Canal, a 50 mile water way that links the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, Panama’s national slogan is, “Bridge of the World… Heart of the Universe.” Spanish is the main language spoken but this Latin American country is actually a melting pot of diverse ethnic groups, with people of Indigenous, Latin, Caribbean, Asian, African, East Indian, North American and European descent and that makes Panama a unique place to do missions. If you want to minister to Muslims, you can do it in Panama. If you feel a call to the Chinese, they make up ten percent of the population. Etc.
The YWAM base is located in the in the small town of Potrerillos Arriba in the province of Chiriqui on the south-western border of Panama, next to Costa Rica. Chiriqui is famous for its mountains, volcano, trout filled rivers, cloud forests, beaches, its black fertile earth and world class coffee. This is a perfect setting to dig into Gods Word, get to know Him better and prepare your heart to be His envoy to the nations.

Ezequiel and Crystal

Ezequiel and Crystal have been helping to pioneer a new mission work in a poor area of Costa Rica, where Ezequiel is originally from. Crystal completed her School of Biblical Studies in 2005 and staffed SBS from 2009-2012. Ezequiel took his Discipleship Bible School in Kona in 2013. Together they helped pioneer the DBS in Asia. They would love to see DBS’s planted throughout the Spanish speaking world. Eze has a heart to feed the homeless and the poor with a food truck in the future. Crystal has a passion for hospitality and teaching the Bible. Their daughter Leilani is a joy and blessing to their lives.
