Following is a brief description of what you homework might look like. Please note that the actual homework varies from location to location and from week to week due to external factors such as schedules, time restrictions, etc.
Homework Assignments
Based on readings, lectures, and group discussions, answer the following questions in your own words. Be sure to include scripture references as evidence. Cite references when applicable, using Nelson’s Bible Maps & Charts (Nelson’s), SourceView, and at least one other resource each week.
Context:
One paragraph minimum for each book mentioning: Author, recipient, date written and historical background
Summary:
One paragraph minimum for each book mentioning: The author’s purpose for writing this book and the Main Idea.
Know God:
One paragraph minimum for each book: How is God’s character and nature revealed? Give examples and scripture references you see relating to the character and nature of God in each book. Include observations and reflections of what you record.
God’s Redemptive Plan (GRP):
Summarize your findings this week regarding GRP supported with scripture reference and your comments. List examples found of GRP in each book, giving verse references and in- sights to their connection. GRP includes God restoring, renewing, redeeming, re-connecting in relationship with man. Be sure to include any messianic prophecies or references as well.
Make God Known:
Note one or more mission related passages that relates to YWAM’s motto, “To make God known”. Cite reference and share connection.
Revelation:
How is your mind and heart changed this week? “Mind” = your view of God; “Heart” = conviction of sin, what practical steps are you going to undertake to change? Through your encounter with God’s Word this week, detail “one thing” that has stood out and has made an impression on you. What might God be challenging you, or asking of you through this revelation point? How will you respond? What practical steps can you take to implement what you have learned and therefore live out what you are studying?
