Why Do a DBS?
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV). We believe the Bible is God’s love letter to us. A gift he uses to reveal truth, to shape our worldview and to prepare us for life as His representatives in the world. It is not just a recommendation but a necessity that we would read it and get to know Him and His will through his Word. The DBS is designed to further continue the discipleship process begun in DTS by laying down a solid foundation in the Word. You will have an opportunity to dig deep into the bible, reading through all 66 books, gaining an overall perspective of God’s story. You will learn techniques for effective Bible study, and a series of guest speakers will help unlock the Bible’s fascinating content. Not just about gaining head knowledge, the DBS is there to help you figure out what the Bible means to you and how to apply and incorporate it to your daily life.
Why Byron Bay?
As the most easterly point of Australia, Byron Bay has a unique calling. It is a backpackers hot spot, New Age Mecca and creative arts festival hub! The nations come here searching for spiritual answers and we have have a unique opportunity to bring truth and discipleship. We desire to train, equip and release people to be ambassador of the truth- bearers of light to the nations in our community and internationally. To evangelise the lost and to strengthen new believers in the word – so they too would flourish in their lives and communities.
